Studies have started...

... and I didn't had any time to write a blog in 3 days, I'm sorry. I should set my priorities straight :P

But as you may all know, I was not only studying. First of all I should mention my long bike rides from midtown to my university in the bronx, always about 11 miles (~17.5km). It's awesome, takes me about 45min-1h, depending on traffic, my own eagerness to be fast and mainly traffic lights. But you will see this in another blog entry ;).

The lessons are overall great. I just have one little problem due to my prior education (Studies of technical mathematics). I'm used to define mathematical terms very precise and use them correct (you won't believe it ^^). Additionally I already had classes of econometrics. However, now I have another class of applied econometrics and our teacher explains many things very vague (you know, precise enough for economists, but a nightmare for mathematicians!). Nevertheless I just take this pain as I'm the only one with a math background :).

A nice quote from the IPED Head Dr. Schwalbenberg to a student sleeping on the couch (as it is only the first week of studies):

"What's up? The year hasn't even started yet!"

Oh I just received an awesome E-Mail. Fall Intramural Season Schedule is online!!! Intramural means something like hobby league. I signed up for a Flag Football Team and a Soccer Team (we have an IPED group). For that reason and just because I never had soccer shoes, I decided to get some:

Games start this Sunday with a Flag game... will be awesome!!!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot: What is the most important part of studying? Making parties!! ;) Therefore we have another party on saturday as IPED Students, organized by the 2nd years.... Looking forward to it ;)
