Viva la comida!! Festival of jazz, lfmao and an awesome guy
Have I already said... everything is branded? Even the trashcans on this street, where a very nice festival took place. It took place in Queens and I needed almost 1 hour to go there on bicycle. It seems to me that's almost the standard time I need on the bike to go to a place, which is not around the corner! However, the area is pretty nice, as you can see at the picture to the right.
The festival was to support the local community, which consists mainly of columbian people. Therefore the singers startet in spanish... damn, gotta learn that language as well here ;).
As second, a group of the New York Jazz academy performed, which was very relaxing. I sat down with a friend from the university, enjoyed a glass of wine and relaxed to this great vibes!
Nevertheless, after one hour of biking I was evidently also very hungry. As soon as I saw this "meat on a stick", it reminded me of my great time in Uzbekistan and I couldn't resist:
Schaschlik as its best!!!
That was just the starter... somehow I'm always far to hungry here, I went on with 2 apples, a box of weird food mix, but the best was the last: I was offered an original columbian "Almojubanas" (it's like a bread with cheese inside!). So far so good, but to you know the circumstances? It was a half columbian, half austrian girl who made me eat it ;).
Here you see the awesome guy:
He was changing his dress every 15 minutes, he had a pudel (to the right) and a black bird (on his head) with him and really made this experience even more special!
And what has LFMAO to do with that? Well, it's easy... how to you oblige all parents of the community to go there? Let their children perform! And therefore there have been a lot of children dancing to the music. One song was "Sexy and I know it" by LFMAO.... and 10 year old boys were dancing to this song.... and yeah they even took their pants off as in this song. And they had neon tiger underpants.... just as it is supposed to be in the original:
