24 hours in Moscow.. and some more ;)

Hey. This is my first entry from Moscow.

I'm staying here in Napoleon Hostel, an hostel which I really can recommend. Nice reception, cold beer and a lot of people... of course mostly Germans.. not what I wanted to find, but it's fine ;).

When I arrived at the airport, I have been reminded quite fast that I should take care about my stuff by the following history:

I walked to the aeroexpress train, which should take me to the city. At the station, a stranger asked me for the way. great, not? about 30min for the first time in Russia and I'm supposed to know the way. Anyway, like fate is, this man was... guess... german... guessed it? ;) we started talking and finally he recognized that he has forgotten his suite somewhere.... He started running back to the airport, just taking a little black pack with him. Not asking if I'm tkaing care of his stuff, he just left every baggage with me and was away for about 5minutes.

He came back, we went onto the train and when it left, he started being worried. About his little black pack. He has found his suite, but fogot his pack. Where he had a looot of money and flight tickets.. what a dude!!!!! anyway... it become a PAL for me (--> hichhikers guide ^^).

anyway... i found the hostel very quick, have been welcomed by a bunch of vodka-drinking people... and joined them ;)

the evening, I made a little walk next to the river, to the red place and back... foudn really russian fast food: Hot dog... afterwards we went out to the Propaganda Bar, a very nice drum'n'bass dance hall. I told myself not to stay out all night long in the first night,... but I haven't succeeded. Back at the hostel, it was far to nice to went straight to bed ;).

So let's start with today. When I was starting to think about a little plan for my day, the game "geocashing" came back to my mind. I searched a task and it led me to a little nice park in a place of moscow, I wouldn't have seen otherwise.  A french girl who is going to study here for a year accompanied me. Unfortunatly, the cache has just been a little bottle of water, no nice souvenir ;).

After 2 hours walking trough Арбат street and around I decided to make the Metro Tour trough the underground and see the famous stadions. Attention spoilering: They are really eye-flashing :P

but even greater is the Tretjakow-Gallery, whish is just huuuuuuge.. I spent about 2 hours in there and I'm not sure if i have seen everything. There are mostly reallistic pictures about landscape, historic events, and everything else! just a lot of them, very nice and I told myself ones again that it would be nice to know more about art ;)

I continued my walk past the Kreml and tried to walk trough. A typical russian guard stopped me with very friendly words: "Ticket" ... i asked him where to buy them: "Ticket Office".... I asked him where is the ticket office... "Not here"... great, really great ;)

so I walked outside the big wall (whish is also very impressing), found out that the office is at the other side of the Kreml and finally stopped at the Place of the Revolution. Very nice to sit down, enjoy the place and drink a cold beer. Yeah... this have been approximately my day and now I'm sitting in the hostel, waiting for a few friends here to have pelmini and then... we will see what the night brings ;).

so... I hope you enjoied reading and I would be glad about comments ;)

best from russia

Peter
